'곤포 사일리지'를 생산하기 위해 사용되는 거대한 비닐은 유기체로서 대지와 생명을 단절시킨다. 불모의 대지를 생산해내고 있는 우리는 급기야 팬데믹을 맞이했고 곤포 사일리지처럼 우리의 숨길에 마스크를 씌웠다.
손바닥으로 하늘을 가리듯, 작은 숲을 곤포했다. 우리의 ‘가상한 노력’으로 지구를 감싸려면 얼마나 큰 마스크가 필요할까.

The massive amounts of plastic used to wrap tree trunks on farmland shows how disconnected we are from the rhythms of the natural world. We, the producers of barren land, suddenly found ourselves in a pandemic, and, like plastic-wrapped trees, we covered up our breath with masks.
Similar to covering the sky with the palm of our hand, we have obscured a small forest. How large a mask would we need to cover the entire planet with our “commendable efforts”?
